The Sculptures in the Garden 2019 selection committee will include Stephen King, a globally renowned sculptor who has previously won the major prize at Sculpture by the Sea; Nick Vickers, a curator experienced in all facets of art; Cam Anderson, a highly regarded local architect and Sam Paine, a representative of Mid-Western Regional Council and a prominent journalist, artist and performer.
Paul Bangay is undoubtedly one of Australia's pre-eminent landscape designers and gardening authorities. The author of eleven books (1996-2023), his work has been featured in a dozen other titles, and in countless magazines over the course of his near to 40-year career. Aside from his professional achievements, Bangay has consistently given his time to charitable, philanthropic and civic endeavours.

Its form, colour and materiality attract the eye and add interest to key places in the garden. Sam Paine is a Councillor for the Mid-Western Regional Council and is also a journalist, artist and performer. Sam grew up in Mudgee and exhibits his art throughout the region and creates illustration work for clients across NSW. Sam has been a finalist in the Muswellbrook Art Prize and Little Things Art Prize. Sam has illustrated live for events such as City of Sydney’s Late Night Library and the Mudgee Readers’ Festival, and created a number of large scale public artworks, including murals in Mudgee, Gulgong and Dubbo and in the Australia Council window in Surry Hills.
Cameron Anderson is a local, award-winning architect with a strong focus on innovation and sustainable design. Cameron’s architecture business, CAARCH, services the Central West and creates both small and large-scale residential and commercial projects.
