Sculptures in the Garden Friends Campaign

In 2015 we initiated “Friends of Sculptures in the Garden” with the goal of raising funds to offer an acquisition prize for contributing artists. We were thrilled to raise $5,000 in 2016 for the first Friends acquisition prize.

The winning acquisition for the 2018 Friends of Sculptures in the Garden prize ‘Jack Thompson: (Cleo Centrefold circa 1973)’ by Victorian artist Matt Hill. This sculpture will now form part of the Mudgee public art collection with a Friends of Sculptures in the Garden plaque.

The objective of the ‘Friends’ initiative is to continue enhancing the quality of works displayed at Sculptures in the Garden by provide another reason for all sculptors to consider exhibiting at our annual event.

Introducing Friends of Sculptures in the Garden

For the event to continue to thrive, we need to continually raise the standard of works exhibited.

For the 2019 event we are seeking donations of $100 or more to once again offer the Friends of Sculptures in the Garden Art Prize - an acquisition art prize made possible through your voluntary donations of $100 and over. The winning acquisition will become part of the Mid-Western Regional Council Public Art Collection and will be installed in the public outdoor ‘Sculpture Walk’ in Lawson Park, Mudgee.

This means that your donation will have a direct impact on improving the event by attracting quality artworks for the exhibition. The number of prizes and prize amounts will be entirely dependent on the support given from Friends of Sculptures in the Garden.

Your generous donation will contribute to increasing exposure of the event, attracting even higher quality artwork and enhancing the sustainability of the event.

We are asking for donations of $100 and above, for which each Friend of Sculptures in the Garden will receive a special gift:
